Sustainable Innovation: Dassault Systèmes’ Chalet Experience @ Farnborough 2024.

 

Mission Sustainability 

At the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow, Cook + Associates were tasked with creating an exceptional brand experience for Dassault Systèmes (DS), building on our successful partnership in 2022. The mission was to showcase DS’s groundbreaking achievements in sustainability and innovation, whilst serving as both an inspiring space for discussions and a powerful statement of DS’s role in the aerospace industry.

 

The Challenge

For our design team, the challenge revolved around creating a design that could evolve the chalet experience with sustainable practice running through every element. The ultimate goal – to offer a relaxing and inspiring environment with a strong “Wow” Factor – the perfect background for presentations and to encourage discussions.

Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our event strategy focused on key principles such as Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13). Delegates embarked on a thoughtfully curated customer journey where technology and VIP hospitality led the way through DS’s ‘future of possibilities’ – exemplified by sustainable innovation and the 3DExperience platform.

Dassault Experience

 

Uniquely Natural

Biophilic Design was central to our strategic approach for DS, connecting delegates to the theme of sustainability by creating a complete harmony between modern architecture and the natural world. Elements like verdure, exposed natural woods, re-suable materials, and plush fabric furnishings resonated with the theme of sustainability whilst FSC-certified timber, uncoated PVC-free vinyl graphics and the creative reuse of a variety of design elements all contributed towards the overall sustainable game plan. A Key achievement was leveraging our global supplier network, enabling us to source local resources without compromise – reducing travel for crew and materials shipment, as well as supporting local workforces and contributing to the local community and the environment – specifically supporting SDG 9 and 11.

The chalet balanced a crisp, clean branding style complete with natural, warm materials, with a particular emphasis on beautifully conceived lighting to accentuate height and space. This, combined  with the biophilic design, created a soothing and peaceful environment prepped to support conversation, cognitive function, physical health, and overall well-being.

Our long-standing collaboration with DS, was instrumental in the success of this project. Our understanding of DS’s brand values, strategic goals, and commitment to innovation allowed us to align our creative vision seamlessly with their objectives. By leveraging this established relationship, we streamlined the design process and efficiently allocated resources, optimising the physical build to ensure every element of the chalet resonated with their overarching message. The result was a cohesive and impactful brand experience that not only met but exceeded expectations, reinforcing DS’s position as a leader in sustainable innovation within the aerospace industry.
